đ Beginnerâs Roadmap to Agentic AI
Only 5 tools you need to start learning Agentic AI
What is Agentic AI?
Agentic AI = AI that doesnât just âanswer questionsâ but can act like an agent (take actions, use tools, plan steps, and adapt to goals).
Difference between GPT and Agentic AI:
Regular GPT: You ask â It answers (like a smart search engine)
Agentic AI: You give a goal â It plans, uses tools, and executes steps to achieve it (like a digital assistant)
Steps to build AI Agents from scratch
1. OpenAI API â The Brain đ§
What it does: Think of this as the brain of your AI agent. OpenAI gives you models like GPT-4 and GPT-4o-mini that can understand and generate human-like text.
Why itâs important: Every agent needs a âthinking core.â Without it, itâs just code with no intelligence.
Example: You send it a question â it replies intelligently.

2. LangChain â The Orchestrator đșïž
What it does: Connects your AI brain to external tools like Google Search, calculators, databases, and APIs.
Why itâs important: If you only use OpenAI API, the AI can chat, but it doesnât do things. LangChain lets it ACT like an agent.
Example: Ask âsummarize this 10-page PDF and store it in a databaseâ â LangChain helps glue together GPT + file readers + database.

3. LlamaIndex â The Librarian đ
What it does: LlamaIndex helps your AI read custom data like your PDFs, Word docs, Notion pages, or database entries.
Why itâs important: GPT alone doesnât know your personal files. LlamaIndex makes it possible for GPT to answer questions from your own data.
Example: Upload your college syllabus â then ask âwhat chapters should I study for Unit 3?â

4. Pinecone â The Memory đ§©
What it does: Pinecone is a vector database that stores âmemoriesâ of what your AI learns, in a format it can understand.
Why itâs important: AI doesnât remember past conversations by default. With Pinecone, you can give it long-term memory.
Example: Ask your bot yesterday about your project. Today, it should remember what you said. Pinecone makes that happen.

5. LangGraph â The Autonomous Agent đ€
What it does: Builds complex multi-step workflows where the agent plans and executes tasks on its own without assistance.
Why itâs important: Instead of you guiding each step, you give a goal and it figures out the plan.
Example: Tell it: âPost a reel about Agentic AIâ â it breaks it down into research, writing, editing and posting. Also CrewAI creates teams of AI agents that work together, each having different roles.
